State Meet Information

Runners will be dismissed a few minutes prior to the all school assembly on Friday, November 4th. Load the bus then sit as a team, that's all runners, in the designated seats. The bus will leave for St. Olaf right after the assembly, approximately at 2:00. Preview course from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Check in to hotel and then head out for dinner. We will want to be at St. Olaf by 8:30 in order to have ample time to warm-up. The long range weather predictions are listing rain as a possibility, be prepared.

Section 7AA Information


Dismissal will be at 9:40 with the bus leaving by 10:00 AM. Pack a lunch that you can eat on the way up to Cloquet. The current weather forecast indicates some cooler temps. on Thursday, highs in the upper 30's to lower 40's. Bring plenty of clothes for warmth. We will most likely stop on the way back for something to eat, which will delay our return. Expect to be back to the school somewhere around 7:00 PM.

7A Girls – 11:00 AM (4000m)

Boys – 11:45 AM (5000m)

7AA Girls – 2:00 PM (4000m)

Boys – 2:45 PM (5000m)


Course Info:
Much like the Anoka course the girls will do two big loops and the boys a small loop followed by 2 big loops. See map.

Directions:

Take I-35 north to Hwy 33 exit.

Stay north on hwy 33 to 2nd light (Big Lake Rd.)

Turn left on Big lake Rd. (Pizza Hut, Perkins)

Follow to Birch Ave. – turn right. (green golf course sign)

Follow to end.


Parents:

There will be limited parking at the clubhouse, be prepared to walk from residential streets.

October 24th Meet @ Bassett Creek Park

This meet is for those athletes not competing on Thursday, October 27th. Dismissal will be at 2:00 PM with the bus leaving at 2:15 PM.

Conference Meet Information

Once again we will be leaving school early. Look for a 1:00 PM dismissal time and exit from Andover at 1:15.

Parents: This is another meet with excellent viewing. We are also charged with providing workers for the meet, two for each of the four races. Please let Carl or Coach Clark know if you would be available.

Booster Meeting Tuesday Oct 11

The next CC booster meeting is Tuesday Oct 11th, 7PM, Room A105 (AHS). It is very important we get good parent turnout in order to select officers for next season. Thanks!

Update - Feed My Starving Children

On Saturday Oct 1, 24 volunteers (runners and family members) from the Andover Cross Country teams packed meals at Feed My Starving Children. In just two hours with other volunteers there, we helped pack 20,736 meals which will provide a life-saving meal to 57 children each day for an entire year! Way to go Andover teams!

Team Building & Serving Event

Join the Cross Country teams this Saturday, October 1 from 4:30-6:30 pm as we hand pack meals at FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN. We will meet at the bus corral at Andover High School at 4 pm, then car pool to Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids (address is 401 93rd Ave). This event will take a great team effort to see how many thousands of meals we can pack in two hours. We will return to AHS by 7 pm ... hope you can all join us! We have reserved 50 volunteer spots -- so parents or siblings are welcome to join us too!

Buffalo Invitational Info

Location: Buffalo Heights Golf Course

Directions: Take Highway 55 West. East of Buffalo turn left on County Road 147 to Highway 25. Turn left on Highway 25 south and proceed to course.

We will be leaving at 1:30 from Andover with dismissal at 1:15. The start times are listed below as well as the teams entered. We will make a quick stop for a bite to eat on the way home. The bus should role in some time around 8:30 PM.

Delivery of Chip Shoppe orders will take place this Wednesday Sept 21st. The orders are scheduled to be at AHS around 5PM in the bus loop. Runners and/or parents should plan on picking up orders any time between 5:15 and 5:45PM.

AppleJack (Lakeville) Invitational Information

The meet is held at Aronson Park in Lakeville. The bus will leave the high school at 1:15 and pick up the middle school runners.

Directions:
From the North: Take 35W South. Next take Highway 50 exit. Turn Left (E) on 50. Follow 50 east approximately 4 miles to Holyoke Ave. (fire station on NE corner). Continue straight approximately 1/3 mile towards Aronson Park on the right— follow meet parking signs.

Chip Shoppe Orders Due

Hopefully everyone has been hard at work selling for the CC fundraiser. We must have all orders and money turned in this week, no later than Friday Sept 9th. In fact, NO ORDERS will be processed after Friday! Also, please take a moment to make sure the money you turn in matches the order totals you have. Runners should bring them to practice and captains/coaches can tell you what to do from there. If you have choosen the $72 opt-out please turn that in as well.

The Apollo Invitational is located at Veteran's Hospital grounds, across from Apollo High School in St Cloud. The link below takes you to Bing Maps and shows directions from Andover: Hwy 10 West, left on Hwy 23 thru St Cloud, right on Hwy 15, left on 44th Ave N. You will see parking on the right and in the HS parking lot on the left.

Week of August 29th

Practices will begin at 3:00 PM each day at Andover HS. However on Tuesday we will travel to St. Cloud for their invitational, leaving at 1:30. The meet schedule is below. Due to the open house schedule on Tuesday some parents may wish to drive their runner home immediately after their race. Please let one of the coaches know prior to leaving the meet. Thursday we will be taking a bus off site for practice, the bus will depart Andover at 3:00 PM.

It's time to start thinking about the fall season. Here is the early version of our schedule, actually the third version. The only change is the date of the parent meeting, which is now scheduled for Thursday, August 18th. Note also the new location for the section meet. We have been moved to Section 7AA.
