Pictures - Wednesday 2:45

The team and individual pictures will be taken Wednesday, October 3rd at Andover HS. Plan to meet at the pond at 2:45. We will begin with individual photos and then take the team pictures.

Directions: 35W to Cleveland, proceed East on Larpenteur - the course is on the right.
Spectator Parking S101 (on the corner of Cleveland and Commonwealth) and the Gortner Ave Ramp. Shuttles will transport to the golf course. Park at your own risk on city streets.

Heggies Pizza pickup

The Heggies pizza pickup has moved to Tuesday 9/18 after practice.  The driver will be delivering between 4:45 and 5:00 PM.  Pizza's will be sorted into orders per runner and need to be taken that night.  The date moved from Wednesday (Race day) to Tuesday.  Please be sure to pick up your orders immediately after practice on Tuesday to keep them frozen.

Wednesday Sophomore & Under Meet

The meet is held at Central Park in Brooklyn Park, 8400 Regent Ave North. The team will not be dismissed from school early but will leave at 2:45 from Andover HS. Varsity runners will go with the team and complete their workout at the meet. If a runner is a freshman or sophomore and are a varsity runner, they will not be running in the meet. Below are the race times.

Information for 9/10 - 9/14

We will be taking a bus to practice on Tuesday this week, either Bunker or Rum River Central. Make sure you have your running watch and a water bottle this week as we have a couple of interval practices planned. On Friday we leave very early for Lakeville - dismiss at 1:00 and on the road at 1:15. Keep in mind you should talk to teachers prior to Friday to let them know you will be missing their class.

Meet Directions:

Take Interstate 35 to the Lakeville area.

Take Highway 50 exit. Turn Left (E) on 50.  Follow 50 east approximately 4 miles to Holyoke Ave. (fire station on NE corner).  Continue straight approximately 1/3 mile towards Aronson Park on the right— follow meet parking signs.

Cambridge Invitational

This meet is a bit different than others, as far as start times are concerned. They begin the meet at 4:15 with the middle school runners. Then when the timers and starters are ready the next race begins. This is called a rolling start. The order of races is listed below. The middle school races are short, less than a mile and a half, so the next race is usually ready to go in 15 minutes. However the subsequent races last much longer. Parking is mostly along the roads bordering the course. The mosquito population seems to thrive in the area so be prepared. The start order is listed below.

Practice Times 8/28 - 8/31

Practice times this week will be 3:00 - 5:30 PM. Wednesday we will be taking a bus out to Rum River Central and may return a little after 5:30. Remember we leave for St. Cloud at 1:00 PM on Monday.

Heggies Fund Raiser Information

The Heggies fund raiser forms are due back this week by Thursday 8/30.  Please hand your forms to your captains anytime this week.  The pizza orders will be delivered to Andover High School at 4:30 PM on 9/19 and need to be picked up by every runner after practice.  Parent volunteers are needed to help split up the orders, please email Jeff McKeefry if you are available to help.  Pizza's will be frozen, so be prepared to deliver that night or keep them frozen until they are delivered.  If you are not participating in the pizza fundraiser, please make a check out to Andover CC booster Club for $50 and hand in by 8/30.  

St. Cloud Invitational Information

The meet is held at the VA Hospital, which is located across the street from Apollo HS, 1000 44th Ave. North. The course is a spectator friendly course, meaning you are able to see the runners 4 to 6 times during their race without having to run yourself. If you are willing to run a little you could see the runners ten or more times.

Bus leaves at 1:00 from Andover HS and will return after the awards ceremony.

Parent Signup Sheet

I have updated the parents sign up sheet and fixed a few dates that were incorrect. There are about 45 runners for snacks, water and Chocolate Milk.  Looking to get about 70 waters, 3 gallons of milk and see how that works out.  For snacks, anything healthy is great including Granola bars, fish crackers, rice krispy bars and kids wouldn't turn down home made treats!  There are still a few dates open, just let me know.

Parent Meeting 8/16/12

The Cross Country team will have a parent meeting Thursday, August 16th in the Andover HS Auditorium at 7:00 PM. Please plan on attending the meeting with your athlete. Information regarding the season and opportunities to help the team will be discussed.

Lazy River Practice 7/18/12

There will be a change in the practice schedule for Wednesday, July 18th. The team will meet at Bunker at the normal time and then proceed to the water park to do some running in the Lazy River. This is a change in location and will also result in a longer practice, going until 10:30 AM. There were some blisters last time so bring along your water shoes to protect the feet.
